  • PRIVILEGES: Borrow up to 10 items, access digital collections and electronic resources, use public computers, use Interlibrary Loan, renew items and place holds.

Daily Guest Pass

  • ELIGIBILITY: Patrons who do not have a North Texas Library Consortium account, are only visiting the area, or need to use the library's public access computers for a short time.
  • PRIVILEGES: Guest passes are issued on a daily basis and will allow access to the library's public computers only. No borrowing privileges are allowed.

TexShare Card

  • TexShare is a cooperative program designed to improve library service to Texans. The TexShare card allows patrons to visit more than 500 libraries throughout the state of Texas and check out materials.
  • Patrons must have a NTLC full privilege card for at least six months with no outstanding balance in order to be eligible for a TexShare card. Patrons who are issued a Krum TexShare card may take that card to obtain a library card at another TexShare participating library, and are responsible for returning items borrowed to the lending library. Click here for a list of libraries participating in the TexShare Card Program. Click here for Krum Public Library's information and TexShare lending policy.
Library Card Requirements

Any current resident of Texas is eligible for a free Krum Public Library card. A valid government-issued photo ID and proof of Texas address are required to establish a library account.

Acceptable government-issued photo IDs include:

  • Texas Driver's License
  • Texas State ID
  • Passport
  • Military ID
  • Green Card / Resident Alien Registration / Mexican Consular Card

If the address on the ID is current, it may be used as proof of current address.

Acceptable proof of address in card holder's name include:

  • Current utility bill
  • Official rent receipt, rental agreement, contract, or lease
  • Car or vehicle insurance or registration
  • Personalized check, savings passbook, bank or credit union statement
  • Voter registration card
  • Paycheck stub
  • Recent postmarked mail (within 30 days)

Age Requirements:

  • Adult, age 17+
  • Children and teens under 17 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian that already has a library card in order to receive a full privilege library card in their name. Parents/legal guardians are financially responsible for any lost or damaged materials checked out by their children under the age of 17.

Card Renewal

Full privilege library cards expire every three years. Expired accounts in good standing may renew their library card. To renew a library card, patrons are asked to visit the Circulation Desk with their current government-issued ID, so that our library staff may ensure the security of your account and verify that the information on file is still current. There is no charge to renew a library card.

Check Out Library Materials

A library card with Krum Public Library or any of the other NTLC libraries is needed to check out library materials. Krum Public Library allows up to 10 items to be checked out on a card at one time.

New "blockbuster" movies can be checked out for one week with the ability to renew one time so that we can make sure these popular movies are available for all of our patrons!

All other items can be checked out for a two week period and will auto-renew up to four times to avoid late fees. Items will not auto-renew if:

  • Another patron has placed a hold on the item
  • You have excessive fines
  • Your account has been barred
  • The renewal limit (4) has been reached

Renew Items

As long as there are no holds on the item, "blockbuster" movies can be renewed one time, and all other items can be renewed up to four times.

Items can be renewed in person, over the phone, or through your online Library Account.

To renew an item online, log in to your account at krum.northtexaslibraries.org. From the "My Account" page, select the "Items Checked Out" tab. Under "Current Items Checked Out," check the box next to all of the items you want to renew. Click "Go." The new due date will be displayed.

Checkout History

Patrons can view their checkout history online via their Library Account. To set up your checkout history:

  • Log in to your account
  • From your account page, select the "Account Preferences" tab
  • Click the "Search and History Preferences" tab
  • Check "Keep history of checked out items" and "Save"

To view your record of previously checked out items:

  • Click the "Items Checked Out" tab
  • Click the "Check Out History" tab

Your history will only reflect the items checked out or put on hold after you have activated the checkout history option. Items currently checked out will be listed after they have been returned. This list is private and the library staff will not have access to it.

Fines & Fees

Fines will be charged for items that are overdue, lost, or damaged. Patrons with excessive fines and/or overdue items may be barred from checking out more items and from using the patron computers.

  • Black and white copies/printing:   10¢ per page
  • Color copies/prints:   25¢ per page
  • Faxes (both sending and receiving):   $1 per page

Fees are charged for copies, printing, and faxing.

  • Overdue materials:   10¢ per day per item
  • Lost/damaged materials:   Replacement cost plus processing fee of $3

Krum Public Library is only able to accept cash and checks as payment for fines and fees.

Holds

Holds can be placed in person, over the phone, or through your online Library Account.

To place a hold online, log in to your account at krum.northtexaslibraries.org and search the catalog. When you find the item you want to place a hold on, click "Place Hold," choose your pick up library and how you would like to be notified. Click "Submit."

You will be notified when your item is ready for pick up and will then have three days to get it.

Online Account Access

To renew items, place holds, search the catalog, and more...

From here, you can also change your username and pin.

Account PIN

A PIN is required, in addition to your library card number, in order to access your library account online. When you applied for your library card at the Krum Public Library, the PIN was set as the last four digits of the card number.

If you changed your PIN online and have now forgotten it, select "Forgot Your Password" on the account log in page. You can also call us to have it reset to the last four digits of the card number.

Lost Cards If you lose your card, call or visit us. We are able to look up your account by name, give the account number and print a new barcode for you.
