About the Event

August 18 2020 is National Bad Poetry Day. Let’s celebrate with some of the worst poetry ever!

For this project, your librarians will be compiling some of the worst (and silliest) poems we can think of for a special video, but we need YOUR help.

To participate, please partake in one or both of the options below:

1) Send us bad poetry! This can be a poem or poem that you think is the worst (no making fun of your neighbors though, please) or intentionally bad poetry that you have written.

2) Make a video of yourself reading a bad poem aloud. Extra points for creative interpretation! Be sure to include the name of the poem and author.

If you decide to make a video and want to be included in our compilation, please email us the video. Remember to include your name! Entry deadline is August 16th.

If you prefer not to be included in our video collection but still want to celebrate, you can still partake on August 18th by sharing your favorite bad poetry via a social media post. Please bring it to our attention on Facebook or Instagram by sharing with us or tagging us (Krum Public Library on Facebook or @krumpubliclibrary on Instagram!).

Be sure to use the hashtag #krumlibrarybadpoetry
