Extensive Catalog

North Texas Library Consortium

The Krum Public Library is proud to be a part of the North Texas Library Consortium. NTLC is a group of 12 area libraries that have partnered to coordinate activities, share resources, and combine expertise. This gives our patrons access to a significantly larger catalog and the convenience of being able to check out and return items at any of the participating NTLC libraries.

Interlibrary Loan

In addition to being a member of the North Texas Library Consortium (NTLC), we participate in the state Interlibrary Loan program. Interlibrary Loan (ILL) allows Krum Public Library card holders access to books that are not available from the Consortium’s collection. For items already in the collection, you can check our online catalog to place a hold. We will accept and process ILL requests for NTLC card members 17 years of age and older that have a current account in good standing and have been a patron for at least one year. Patrons with fines or overdue materials cannot request ILL books. Cardholders are responsible for fines and fees for overdue, lost, or damaged ILL items. Any items that are lost or damaged will be assessed a fee equal to the replacement cost plus a processing fee. Please note: Due to the fact that Interlibrary Loans can come from anywhere in the country, we cannot say how quickly they will arrive.

TexShare Databases

TexShare Databases are e-resources licensed for the exclusive use of Texas libraries and their patrons. Start with TexShare for homework help, health or business information, academic journals, popular magazines, genealogy, or job and career development. A login is required. Come by the library to get the access information. Visit the TexShare website or check out our list of available TexShare Databases.

Computers and WiFi

Public Computers

The Krum Public Library has six public desktop computers. Computers cannot be reserved. They are available on a first-come, first-served basis and may not be available if the library is using them to hold a program. To use a computer:

  • NTLC library cardholders can log in with their card number as the Patron ID and last name as the password.
  • If you do not have a library card, you can sign up for one or get a computer guest pass. To use a guest pass, we will create a login ID for you to use (must be age 17+). The ID will only work once, so you will need to get a new guest pass each time you use our public computers.
Each workstation has been set up with the software listed below:
  • Windows 10
  • Microsoft Office 2016
  • Internet Explorer
  • Google Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Adobe Reader

Free, wireless internet access is available for use on your own device while at the library. The network name and password are posted on the bulletin board inside the library.

Print and Copy

Patrons may print using the library's public computers. The library provides black & white and color print and copy services. Prints/copies are 20¢ per page. At this time, we are only able to accept payment in cash or checks. (One double-sided page counts as two copies.)

We are set up for patrons to scan documents and photos to a USB drive. The scanner is an 8.25" x 11.75" flatbed scanner with a document feeder. All scanning features are free of charge.

It costs $1 per page to send and receive a fax. Cover sheets are available at the main circulation counter for no additional charge. At this time, we are only able to accept payment in cash or checks. Our fax number is (940) 482-0088
