Check It Out! November 2023 Newsletter

Volume 5 Issue 2

Director's Corner November and fall rains have arrived! Cooler temperatures make for great reading weather (not that there is any “bad” reading weather – except outside in the rain!) The library has new books (and new movies) to help fill the longer nights or keep you occupied during those family get-togethers! Happy Thanksgiving! (And for those of you wondering – the Christmas movies will be out after Thanksgiving!)

Did You Know? KPL now has access to Transparent Language Online. Library cardholders can create a free account, which gives access to more than 100 languages, including major world languages, ASL, and indigenous languages. Some languages even have multiple dialects and a “Kid Speak” course for younger learners.

Remember When? (A look back at important events in literary history—author birthdays, book/character debuts, and dates in books) 11/4/1899 Sigmund Freud's The Interpreter of Dreams is published. 11/13/1850 Robert Louis Stevenson is born. 11/24/2020 Nora Robert's The Awakening is published.

Staff Pick - CJ I have been reading David Rosenfelt's The K Team. This light mystery has three dogs and their ex-cop humans who solve crimes. As an animal lover, I enjoy the interactions between the animals. Library Events
