January 2021 Newsletter

Director's Corner Welcome 2021! Hopefully, this year won’t be as traumatic as 2020. But however it rolls, we all now know to keep a stock of toilet paper on hand – and lots of good books to read! The library, as always, has lots of new books of all types. Stop by and check out something to read (or watch)!

Did You Know?

  • January is National Braille Literacy month in honor of Louis Braille’s Birthday.

  • January 27 is National Library Shelfie Day. Come take a picture of your favorite Library Shelf or send us a picture of your home library shelf!

  • We are 40% of the way to our goal of 500 paper cranes for a special Paper Peace Display! Thank you to those who have participated so far. Ask a librarian how you can help us meet our goal.

Friends of the Library Update Congratulations to Kathy Strand for winning the Krum FOL Christmas gift basket giveaway. Thank you to all that participated. More than $300 was raised to benefit the library!

Staff Pick from CJ CJ loves anything by Heather Graham, and this month she specifically recommends Seeing Darkness. It is part of the Krewe of Hunters series. It has mystery, intrigue, and adventure. It’s a light mystery and fast read.

Happy New Year from all of us at Krum Public Library! KPL will be closed January 1 for New Years.
