Mason’s Musings April 1st, 2023

After almost 7 months of working at Krum Public Library and getting to know all of its wonderful patrons I, unfortunately will be leaving the KPL family. I just want to thank each and everyone of you who I’ve gotten to know and to my Krum Library co-workers. Donna, Joy, CJ, Katrina, and Jesse I have one final thing to say….

APRIL FOOLS!!!

Apologies if I spooked any of you with the joke, I just couldn’t help myself. Hope all you pranksters out there are having a fun-filled April Fool’s Day, and speaking of fun we have an awesome new space for our teens to hangout! We’re aware that many of the middle schoolers come to the library to wait until their parents or guardians can pick them up. However, due to our library’s rules many times the kids can often feel stifled after having been at school all day. But not anymore! We are now hosting the “Awesome Teen Space” where teens can go and let out all the stress and frustrations of their school day! They can snack, drink sodas, play games, and be loud (to a reasonable extent), every Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 3:30-5:00. We hope the teens will enjoy the space dedicated just for them but still remain respectful of the library and its property.

In more Apollo related news, we’ve been made aware that the due back notification for any books you have checked out gets sent the day they are due back, instead of three days prior like the old system. This means you’ll have less of a warning when books are due back so we strongly encourage you to turn them in as you soon as you can. Don’t be scared though about accruing any late fines because we have added a three-day grace period for each book and DVD returned. And just a reminder that every book you check out does have automatic renewals if not turned in on the due date.

I’m hoping we get to enjoy the nice spring weather before the rays of summer start to beam down on us. Wishing you all a spring full of growth and vitality!
