Mason’s Musings July 14th, 2023

Hold on to your pointy hats and whip out your pumpkin carving tools because I have some spooooooky news for you. The Halloween lover’s community has (unofficially) declared July 5th as the start of the spooky season! The reason behind this decision being that July 4th is the last commercialized holiday before Halloween. So, from July 5th- October 31st all us Halloween freaks get to unleash our excitement we’ve been bottling up all year. While some of your librarians wish we could start decorating for Halloween, we’ll just have to be content with silently plotting for the upcoming holiday.

However, I for one embrace this unofficial start to the spooky season, and can’t wait until Fall starts to set in. Even though we’re all having a blast with Summer Reading, the Fall weather will be a welcome reprieve from the blazing July sun.

I’m curious to know if you all share the same passion for fall, the spooky season, and Halloween as I do, or if you’re just indifferent to it. It’s great to see other people’s point of view and what they’re passionate about. So please feel free to drop by the library and tell me all about it. I love interacting with all of our patrons, and I’d like to use this blog to reach out more to you all!

Well, that’s all from me this week, I look forward to relaying some more spoooooky news for the upcoming fall season for you all. It feels like this Summer just keeps on flying by but hopefully y’all have been able to enjoy it! Have a great rest of your week and I’ll see you next time.
